HSP East Valley Charity

Each year HSP East Valley chooses a charity to raise funds for and to donate a portion of our membership dues. For the 2016-2017 membership year, the board chose from a variety of charities and voted that Homeless ID Project was an admirable charity to assist.

Charity History
In 2016 alone, Homeless ID Project provided over 9,670 services to 5,708 people experiencing homelessness. We are the only organization in the country to exclusively provide daily identification services.
Have you ever tried to get a job without an ID?
Sign a lease?
Enroll your child in school? See a doctor?
How about access social services?
All of the services that are meant to help people rebuild their lives, and regain their self-sufficiency are dependent on one thing, identification!

What our Donation will Provide
Procurement of birth certificates and supporting documents, necessary to obtain an Arizona ID or driver’s license.
Purchase of Arizona ID or driver’s license.
Safe storage of birth certificates and other documents to prevent loss, theft or destruction.
Referrals to rehabilitation programs, food and housing sources, medical assistance, and other agencies providing services to the poor and homeless in our community.

How to Donate
If making personal donations or company donations via check, you may make the check out to HSP East Valley, HSP East Valley will collect and give you a donation receipt (non-tax deductible) at any HSP East Valley meeting or social during the 2017-2018 membership year.

Proceeds totaled $500 from both raffles and HSP matched that amount to give a total donation of $1,000!

Bridging AZ is a Federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. In 2003 Bridging AZ began as a ministry of St Barnabas on the Desert Episcopal Church by Jim & Donna Piscopo. The response was so overwhelming Bridging AZ incorporated as a nonprofit in 2004, in the past 11 years Bridging has distributed over 250,000 items to families in need.

Bridging AZ does not give away FREE furniture, what we do is partner with social service agencies who identify and qualify families in need – Then the families get a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase items they need for a nominal fee.

The Rebuiliding Together Valley of the Sun’s mission is to engage community partners and volunteers in the revitalization of neighborhoods. Through home repair, modifications and improvements, we provide needy low-income senior, veteran and disabled individuals with a safer, more independent and comfortable life.

Since 1991, RTVOS has engaged more than 60,000 volunteers from nearly 500 organizations throughout Arizona. Our philanthropic efforts have resulted in $7 million in repairs at over 1,900 homes and 60 nonprofit facilities.

The Widow’s Mites Project. The Widow's Mites Project is a Phoenix, Arizona non-profit faith based company designed to serve the elderly and disabled among us who "fall through the cracks" in meeting governmental and insurance requirements to qualify for homecare services. Our caregivers are certified nurse's assistants, certified caregivers or companions who have a history of caring for their own immediate families.
